14 Aug Indigo Fields – spa getaway perfection
The first time we went to Indigo Fields was 2 years ago, my sister and I went for the half day spa package and we were very impressed, it was incredibly relaxing and a beautiful time together. We decided to return this year for a girls weekend away and it was the best decision EVER!! Indigo Fields’ warm service and hospitality is totally unmatched. We had an unforgettable experience and definitely didn’t want to leave their relaxing oasis to go back to reality.
We chose the Indigo Fields mid-week special for our girls getaway of pampering and much needed RNR. Indigo Fields is the perfect spot for a memorable girls getaway filled with
spectacular meals, wine, beautiful accommodation and a relaxing atmosphere. The thing that was so refreshing to find was that they are not health focused like other spas in the area but encourage you to indulge in their delicious food and wine options. Indigo Fields spoils you from start to finish and you can have as much of anything you want!!
We arrived at 12pm and were ushered in by our welcoming hosts with glasses of champagne
and encouraged to change into their warm, spa gowns. We then enjoyed an outdoor lunch by the pool and finished off our bottle of bubbles. I chose the butternut and feta tart and salad
and it was absolutely delicious. During lunch our host came round to explain the treatments choices; a full body massage or a head, neck and shoulder massage and foot massage. With the perfect welcome and lunch we had already received, we knew that the rest of our stay was sure to be a delight.
After lunch a jeep came to pick us up and whisked us off to our treatments. The jeep took us past the lavender fields and down into the valley where the treatments took place. The treatments happen in outdoor canvas tents on beautiful wooden decks. Here you can hear the wonderful sounds of nature around you while the treatments are happening. The treatment time ended with Amarula and their famous home made truffles while we were given the various dinner and wine options for the evening.
Our host escorted us down to the luxurious Twickle Cottage where we stayed and showed us all around. The home was beautifully decorated with four bedrooms and luxurious en-suite bathrooms. There was a lovely open plan living area with fireplace and an outdoor deck complete with picturesque country views. The cottage also had a lower deck with a heated jacuzzi and an infrared sauna. Indigo Fields’ attention detail was amazing and they had really thought of everything that you would need for your stay.
After a few hours of relaxing our dinner was brought down to our cottage. Dinner included the full tout; starters, main and desserts. Meals included halloumi salad, homemade soups, lamb shank, beef fillet, a wonderful vegetable selection and loads more. The chocolate brownie trio served with lavender ice cream was the dessert winner of the day. Everyone raved about their food and we couldn’t fault it at all.
Breakfast the next morning was set up in their main dining room. There was a beautiful breakfast selection with cooked breakfast and fresh muffins, scones, homemade yoghurt and muesli.
The best part of the stay at Indigo Fields is their generous form of warm hospitality that they offer all their guests, never rushing you at any point in your stay. All their staff from gardeners to therapists are super friendly and welcoming and their attention detail is a treat. I would definitely recommend Indigo Fields for a relaxing, indulgent, pamper-filled getaway. It is spa perfection for a fun girls getaway or a romantic, refreshing weekend away.
The mid-week special is a reasonable R1850 per person which include treatments, accommodation, delicious meals and wine.
