20 Feb Vintage Vibes @ The Copper Coffee Bar
While we were on holiday we happened to stumble across a fairly new, yet definitely delightful coffee bar, named the Copper Coffee Bar. Situated at the Junction Center in Nottingham Road this is a coffee bar with a unique edge. The coffee bar is combined with an antique shop giving it that vintage flair with steampunk vibes. As you walk into their space you feel like you have stepped into a different era with loads of quirky products to explore and vintage furniture to lounge on.
The owners of this funky spot hail from Pretoria and have moved down to the misty Midlands Meander to escape the city hustle and bustle and enjoy a slower pace of life. A husband and wife team, both who are photographers, bring their creative flair to their shop space and the Midlands wedding scene. Their staff are super friendly and enthusiastic about coffee, getting you to sample their different beans and cups. Their flat white was perfect, full bodied while being rich and creamy.
The Copper Coffee Bar use beans from a boutique roastery in the village of Hilton, called the Manna Roastery. Manna Roastery is proudly South African with all of their beans being 100% Arabica, sourced from across the globe. They source a full range of beans from speciality to single origin, while developing their own blends.
The Copper Coffee Bar have an absolutely gorgeous steampunk coffee machine which is from 1920s. It is a La San Marco and is a machine to marvel over. The coffee machine is the centerpiece of their bar with the inner workings of the machine on display for all to see.
So be sure to support this hidden gem, their antique treasures will take you on an interesting journey and their coffee is sure to impress. This spot definitely exceeded our expectations. We wish them all of the best on their new adventure on the Meander.
